Heo Joon-jae left home young and learned the only trade that paid: talking people out of what they already owned. He still carries a Joseon magistrate's face he has never seen in a history book. Shim Cheong comes out of the water looking for that face. She does not know what a lease is, or a lie, and she is wearing a bracelet he would normally steal. Cha Shi-ah already has a claim on him from campus. Jo Nam-doo taught him the con and now needs a place to hide. The city is dry. She is not.
